I grew up under the Friday night lights of Midland, Texas, where I attended Robert E. Lee High School. Following high school, I moved on to Texas Tech University. After three years there, I decided I was ready for a change of scenery, and I transferred to Kansas State University. My years at K-State converted me to a huge Wildcat fan!! I can be found wearing purple most Saturdays during football season. During my college years, I had some unique opportunities, including working as a landscaper at Disney World and a camp counselor at a wilderness camp in Durango, Colorado.
This year begins my 16th year in education. While still in the Midwest, I taught Title I Reading, 6th grade math, and 5th grade. In 2003, I started to get homesick for Texas and moved to the Austin area. I taught 4th grade for three years and Gifted and Talented for two years in Round Rock. In addition to being a classroom teacher in Round Rock, I also served (and continue to serve) as a district trainer for Tribes, Collaborative Teacher Leader, First Lego League Coach, and team leader. I am so happy to have found a home at Eanes Elementary!
I am so excited about serving as the Instructional Partner on our campus. Getting to work with both students and teachers is basically my dream job! A true lifelong learner, I continued my education at Texas State University through PTEP, the Partnership for Teacher Excellence Program. In 2014, I completed my Master's of Elementary Education with a minor in Educational Leadership. I have my Principal's Certification for grades K-12.
In June 2010, I married my husband, Dylan, who is a former Eanes ISD teacher. In March of 2013, our family doubled in size with the addition of our twins, Matthew and Maren. We are very lucky to have family living very close, so we spend lots of time with family and friends. In the summer, we enjoy traveling anywhere with cooler weather and in the fall, we are avid college football fans! As much as we enjoy traveling, we are always glad to get home to Austin. We love it here and can't imagine living anywhere else!
